Bobbie Lee Baggett

Mrs. Bobbie Lee Baggett, age 94, widow of Bennie “Don” Baggett, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at her residence.

A funeral service for Mrs. Baggett will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Elsey officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Monday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of McNairy County, Tennessee, Mrs. Baggett was the daughter of the late William A. Olive and the late Susie Newell Olive. She worked with young children in preschool for many years at First Baptist Church, Bolivar, Tennessee and First Baptist Church, Columbia, Tennessee. She was a Charter member of West End Baptist Church in Columbia where she taught preschoolers in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was a part time classroom teacher in the Regional Intervention Program with the Maury County Mental Health Department.

Bobbie and Don were married sixty-seven years before Don’s death in January 2013. Bobbie leaves behind three daughters, Carol Hazlegrove of Southaven, MS, Pam Baggett of Franklin, TN, and Donna Fagan of Columbia, TN, grandchildren, Amy Schweers of Germantown, TN, and Blair Hazlegrove of Southaven, MS, great grandchildren, Courtney, Mary Caroline, and Sarah Schweers, and family members Carl Schweers and Christy Hazlegrove.

The family wishes to extend sincere and special thanks to friends and caregivers, Anna & Jon Odom, Isabell Clemons, Heather Koster, Dr. Ben & Tere Gardner, Annette & Rob Carroll, Rev. Jim & Shirley Dusek, and Andrew Casselberry.

Pallbearers will include Jim Vanbibber, Bill Summars, Jonathan Odom, Rob Carroll, Blair Hazlegrove, Carl Schweers, Mark Goodrum, and Andrew Casselberry. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Joy Sunday School Class from West End Baptist Church.
