Bobby Carroll Baucom

Mr. Bobby Carroll Baucom, age 72, a resident of Lynnville, passed away Friday morning, November 8, 2019 at Magnolia Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 1PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Walter Clot officiating. Burial will follow in Short Cemetery in Marshall County with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 4-6PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on November 29, 1946 in Marshall County, Bobby was the son of the late James Thomas Baucom and the late Maizelle Clark Oz. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He worked many years as a criminal investigator for the Maury County Sheriff’s Department and also built houses. He enjoyed working, fishing and hunting. Bobby was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children: Dawn (Bob) Gray of Columbia, Gary (Bethany) Baucom of Columbia, Kelly Baucom of Columbia; brother, Dudley Baucom of Kentucky; sisters: Martha Rogers Barker of Smyrna, Mary Jane Baucom of Savannah; grandchildren: Kayla (Max) Smith, Keith (Kelly) Gray, Cristin Jones, Will Jones, Luke Baucom, Brett Baucom; and great grandchildren: Gray Smith and Evie Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Ann Snoddy; and brother, Bradley Baucom.

Pallbearers will be: Keith Gray, Will Jones, Luke Baucom, Brett Baucom, Max Smith, and Rickey South. Honorary pallbearers will include the Men’s Sunday School Class at Northside Baptist Church.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Magnolia Healthcare, Fresenius Kidney Care and Avalon Hospice for their care and compassion for Bobby during the difficult time.
