Bobby Boatman

Bobby Gene Boatman, age 76, resident of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service to celebrate Bobby's life will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, where Bro. Greg Gwin will officiate. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is overseeing the arrangements.

Born on October 10, 1947, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, Bobby was the son of the late Clyde Edward Boatman and the late Lucy Laurine Hainey Boatman. He was a 1965 graduate of Forrest High School in Chapel Hill. Bobby dedicated years of service to Derryberry Drug Store and CVS, where he worked as a clerk until his retirement. He was an active member of the College Grove Church of Christ. Bobby had a profound affection for children and animals and devoted himself to community service, notably contributing to the success of the Mule Day parade. His commitment extended to volunteering for Civil Defense.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara Crigger of Belfast, Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Locke Boatman.

A special thanks is extended to his God daughters, Chenoha and Brooke, as well as special friends, April and Shirley, for their special care for Bobby throughout his life. A heartfelt expression of thanks goes to Hospi ce Compassus for their compassionate care during this challenging time.
