Bobby Holt

Bobby Holt, 94, longtime resident of Columbia, Tennessee went to sleep in death at his home on Friday, March 20, surrounded by his children.

Bobby was born on February 7, 1926 in Lonoke, Arkansas and was the son of the late Daniel Holcomb Holt and late Florence Bertha Holding Holt. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lorene Nicholson Holt and siblings: DH Holt, Jimmy Holt, Aggie Swearengen, Patsy Bowlan, Mary Catherine Williamson, Jean Haire, and Lucille Roberson.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Jewell, Jan Carter, Beth (Gary) Kekich, Nancy (Tim) Weaver, son David Nicholson Holt; seven grandchildren: Naomi Holt, Sara Jewell Callahan, Joshua Jayne, Jada Jayne, Kimberly Dawn (Darren) Crawford, Ryan Weaver, Dylan Weaver; and eight great grandchildren. It was important to him to teach his children about the Bible and the wonderful hope it gives for meek ones right here on the earth.

Bobby was a hard worker, and although he retired almost 30 years ago from Maury Regional Medical Center, he never stopped working, spending a great deal of his time with the West Columbia Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and in the ministry.

He also enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, fishing and family vacations at the beach.

Due to present circumstances, a private family memorial will be held. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
