Bobby Richard (Bob) Huff, aged 87, passed away peacefully in sleep on Monday morning, August 21,
2023, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 25th, at 6:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home, with
Steven Huff officiating. Visitation is from 5:00 to 6:00 pm on the same day at the funeral home. Bobby
will be laid to rest at Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home in

In September 1956, Bobby met Margaret Lovene Lane in Antioch, Tennessee. They were married on
December 1, 1956, and had four children: Sherry, David, Rhonda, and Steven.
Bobby served in the Tennessee Air National Guard (TNANG) for 41 years, retiring as a Chief Master
Sergeant in 1995. In his civilian life, he was employed by Metro Davidson County, followed by the
Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority. He later became an entrepreneur and business owner, utilizing
his skills from the Guard as the owner of Huff Electric Co. Bobby subsequently returned to Metro
Nashville as a Codes Inspector, where he remained until his retirement.
In 2000, Bobby, fluent in Spanish, and Margaret relocated to Chapala, Mexico. They later returned to the
U.S., living first in Foley, then Fairhope, Alabama, before settling in Columbia and Smyrna, TN.
Throughout his life, Bobby was a captivating, colorful conversationalist and storyteller, known for his
sharp wit. He had a charm that was accentuated by his gracious manners and insatiable curiosity. In his
roles with the Guard and civilian life, he visited every U.S. state, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and
most Western European countries, effectively communicating with conversational German, Italian, and
French. A man of many hidden talents, Bobby was a gifted visual artist, a brass musician in his youth
(playing the trumpet), and possessed a broad knowledge in science, history, and literature. He was a good
candidate for the title of "World’s Most Interesting Man." Above all, he was a dedicated husband and
father who never ceased observing and learning.
He is survived by his children, Rhonda Huff of Hermitage, TN, and Steven (Dana) Huff of Worcester,
MA; grandchildren Jacob Huff, Nathan Grimes, Genevieve (Ceagan) Lino, Ryan Huff, Margaret Elaine
Huff, Dylan Huff, great-grandchild Ian Huff, and brother-in-law, Phillip Lane.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters-in-law, Lily and Marjorie; wife, Margaret Lovene Huff;
daughter, Sherry Huff-Grimes; and son, David Huff.
