Mrs. Eleanor Carol McNeill Copley, age 75, wife of Ellis C. Copley, Sr., and a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday morning, June 3, 2021, at NHC Columbia.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Lyndall Propst and Pastor Ward Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on February 24, 1946, in Columbia, Tennessee, Carol was the daughter of the late Robert Lindsey McNeill and the late Eleanor Rivers Perry McNeill. She was a 1964 graduate of Columbia Central High School and a 1967 graduate of Nashville General School of Nursing. She married Ellis C. Copley, Sr. on October 24, 1967. Carol worked as a nurse for many years for NHC Hillview Healthcare before retiring. She was an avid gardener and reader and loved doing crafts, especially for Christmas. Carol was a member of Bigbyville United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Ellis C. (Regina) Copley of Columbia, TN, Everett L. (Tanya) Copley of Apoka, FL, James D. Copley of Lawrenceburg, TN, daughters, Connie Copley of Columbia, Eleanor Pulliam (John) Hargrove of Joelton, TN, Anna Copley of Lawrenceburg, TN, grandchildren, Kayla, AJ, Tera, Lori, Harley, JJ, Jason, Shelby, Eric, Anthony, Josh, Meranda, John, Zane, Robert, Alfred, Charlotte, Willa, Rosella, and Jaxon, and great grandchildren, Allison, Madison, Brendan, and Makaylan.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Watkins, James Taylor, III, Donnie Moulder, Ricky Patton, Eric Hopkins, and Josh Crabtree. Honorary pallbearers will include the current and former members of the United States Armed Forces and all current and retired Tennessee nurses.
