Carol “Honey” Hatcher Stewart, age 70, wife of Frank Stewart, and a resident of Culleoka, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 4PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Glen Alexander officiating. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 2-4PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on September 3, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky, Carol was the daughter of the late Darold Glyn Hatcher and the late Josephine Borders Hatcher. She was a 1968 graduate of Columbia Central High School and retired from the United States Postal Service in 2000. She was a loving wife and mother who loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and cooking and looked forward to going out to eat with her sisters on Fridays. She was a member of Campbell Station Church of Christ. A good friend to everybody, Carol will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband, Frank, of forty-six years, she is survived by her sons: Glyn (Mandy) Stewart of Culleoka, Benjamin (Johnna) Stewart of Columbia; siblings: Pamela J. Davidson of Water Valley, Bobby (Tammy) Hatcher of Columbia, Leona “Onie” (Larry) Blocker of Columbia, Jerri H. (Jerry) Sharp of Columbia; grandchildren: Kayla Holt, Kaitlyn (Shane) Davis, Adam (Kayla) Stewart, Alex Stewart, Anna Stewart, Emily Watson; great grandchildren: Tristan Stewart, Jayden Hughes, Mackinlee Jackson, Jayston Jackson, Stetson Stewart, Payton Davis, Dillon Davis, Caitlin Davis, and Jordan Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Hatcher.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
