Cathy Martin

Mrs. Cathy Ramona Martin, age 62, a resident of Chapel Hill, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 10 ^th at 3PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens, located adjacent to the funeral home. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 1-3PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Cathy was born in Memphis on July 11, 1956 and was the daughter of James Edward Payne and the late Elsie Logan Payne. She married Jeffery Martin on June 8, 1999. Besides her work as a housewife, she loved fishing, and riding her bicycle. She was also a gourmet cook. She was very handy around her home, including carpentry work and painting. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by her daughters: Tinesheia Monday of Memphis, Destin DorMing Coby Payne of Columbia; brothers: James Edward Payne, Jr., Andel Payne, Keith Payne all of Memphis; sisters: Cheryl “Ti Ti” Lola Payne Parker of Georgia, Carroll Payne of Memphis; and grandchildren: Azaria Monday, Maddox Puca, and Jalayah Johnson.

Pallbearers will be: Anthony Grant, Marvin Grant, Kevin Khul, Porter Barcheers, Miles Puca, and Tyler Parrish, and Ress Barnett, Honorary pallbearers will be: James Payne and Edward Parker.
