Charles Giacomo, Jr.

Charles Giacomo, Jr., age 65, left this world on Tuesday, August 14 ^th , 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 19 ^th at 3PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Agnes Lepley officiating. A visitation will also be held on Sunday, August 19 ^th from 1-3PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Charles was born on Sunday, February 8 ^th , 1953 in DuQuion, Illinois and was the son of the late Charlie Giacomo and the late Olive Mae Coates Giacomo. He was a husband to his wife, Donna Faught Giacomo, of forty-two years, and the father of Jamie Skinner and the late Sherry Lyn Giacomo. He was a wonderful role model to all his grandkids, Justice, Kinley, Jordan, Jase, Eli and Madison. Charles was a man that loved his family and did everything he could to make sure they were taken care of. He was such a very hardworking man and never complained. He was a loving brother and friend.

Charles enjoyed his work as a toolmaker. When he wasn’t spending time with his family, he enjoyed hunting, bush hogging and working on things in his garage. He was strong and fought hard through his battle with cancer and believed God was going to heal him. His strength, faith, love, and determination to not give up is what got him through so many days. Charles was loved by so many and will be missed dearly.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Jamie (Joey) Skinner of Chapel Hill; brothers: Pete and Jim Giacomo; sisters: Rosie Lawless, Betty Ann Aaron, Vera Reese and Mary Schaffer; grandchildren: Kinley Giacomo, Justice Giacomo, Jordan Voss, Jase Manier, Eli Skinner and Madison Webb: and many other family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Sherry Lyn Giacomo; brothers: Teddy, Floyd, and Yule Giacomo; sister: Elizabeth Giacomo.
