Charles J. Kernen

Mr. Charles Jeffrey Kernen, age 51, a resident of Murfreesboro, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at his residence.

Family will hold a memorial gathering at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Charles was born on January 7, 1970 in Pontiac, Michigan and was the son of Charles Edward Kernen and Sandra Joy Hutchison Kernen. He attended Holly High School in Michigan. Charles worked many years as a roofer in the construction field.

He enjoyed watching Nascar and on occasion he would travel to Talladega to watch the races live.

In addition to his parents, Charles & Sandra Kernen of Shelbyville, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons: Charles Kernen of Michigan and Jeffrey (Danielle) Gaines of Shelbyville; sister: Carey Kernen of Missouri; grandchildren: Braxton Kernen, Elora Gaines, and a grandson due this summer.
