Mr. Charles Kinzer, age 70, resident of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Magnolia Healthcare.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 1:30PM at Rosemont Cemetery in Columbia, with Pastor Kendell Alderson officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 11-1PM at the Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born October 17, 1949, in Maury County, Tennessee; Charles Thomas Kinzer, Sr. was the son of the late John Henry Kinzer, Sr., and the late Emma Nolia Green Kinzer. He graduated from Carver-Smith High School in 1967, and then went on to serve his county bravely in the U.S. Army. Charles loved both his family and friends; and enjoyed the company of those around him. His favorite thing to do was people watch from his front porch. He was interested in what people had to say, and liked talking and listening to music. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Charles leaves behind to cherish his memory one son: Charles Kinzer, Jr.; three sisters: Rosie Wells, Annie Kinzer, Deborah Webster; devoted niece: Diana Polk, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his sisters: Mary Hall and Mattie Wisener; brothers: John H. Kinzer, Jr., Larry D, and Phillip Kinzer, and devoted friends Ed Holt and Richard Ransom.

His nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank everyone who helped care for Charles during his illness; It has truly been a blessing for all of us knowing that he was loved by so many; our thanks to the entire staff of Magnolia Healthcare Center- Special Thanks to Diana Polk, Amandrea Walker, Jennifer Wiles, Janice Shipp, Kendall Alderson and Carolyn Foster. Your compassion and prayers have meant so much. May God continue to bless all of you.

Military Honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Post 19.
