Cheryl Lynn Dickson

Cheryl Lynn Dickson, age 67, a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at her residence.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Polk Memorial Gardens at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on April 9, 1955, in Aiken, South Carolina, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Max Thompson Winters and the late Katherine Rosson Winters. She worked ten years as a night staff supervisor for the Tennessee Children’s Home in Spring Hill before retiring in January 2022. She was a member of Sharp’s Corner Church of Christ. Cheryl was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and studying ancestry.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Dickson, sons, David Daniel (Kimberly) Smithson of Columbia, Robert Lee Dickson, Jr. of Columbia, sister, Ronda (Tom) Pope of Columbia, grandchildren, Gunner Smithson, Kayla (Nick) Peraza, Dakota Smithson, and a great grandchild on the way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, Joshua Smithson, Patrick Dickson, and brother, Jack Stanley “Butch” Winters.
