Chris Daniels

Jimmy Christopher Daniels, age 48, resident of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 8, 2020.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15 ^th at 10:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Richardson officiating.  Entombment will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, located adjacent to the funeral home.  The family will visit with friends on Friday, August 14 ^th from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born in Maury County, Chris was the son of Jimmy and Ruth Ann Daniels.  He graduated from Spring Hill High School and attended Columbia State Community College.  He worked for Volunteer Materials and went to church at the Pentecostals of Columbia.  His hobbies included tinkering on cars, playing cards with family, and cooking.  He was known for his cornbread and macaroni and cheese.  He also enjoyed hiking and traveling.  He never met a stranger and had a servant’s heart.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and received the nickname “Turtle” due to always being late.  Chris never got in a hurry.  Most of all, Chris was a loving husband, father, brother, son, and so much more.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his wife: Jennifer Viola Daniels of Columbia; children: Jaden Christopher Daniels and Preston Henry Daniels; sister: Martianne (Jeremy) Oden of Columbia; father in law: Robert Henry (Sharon) St. John of FL; mother in law: Nina St. John of Lawrenceburg; nieces and nephews: Logan St. John, Lily St. John, and Zachary Kindred.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: John and Florence Pollock and J.C and Frances Daniels.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Pollock, Steve Gandee, Robert Barnette, Zachary Kindred, Ray Barnette, and Jeremy Oden.  Honorary pallbearers will be all of the employees of Volunteer Materials.
