Clint Moore Fitzgerald

October 21, 1930 — September 16, 2018

Mr. Clint Moore Fitzgerald, age 87, husband of Jane Truelove Fitzgerald, and a resident of Rip Steele Road in Columbia, passed away Sunday morning, September 16, 2018 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at Morton Cemetery with Rick Points officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Maury County, Clint was born on October 21, 1930 and was the son of the late Walter Fitzgerald and the late Pauline Jones Fitzgerald. He was a 1949 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served his country in the United States Navy from 1950-1954 during the Korean War. Clint married Jane Truelove on August 4, 1969. He worked in plant operations at Maury Regional Medical Center for thirty-six years before retiring in 1992. He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and coached Little League baseball for many years.

He was a loving and devoted husband who cherished spending time with his family especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A great sense of humor, Clint was an avid UT Vols fan who also loved fishing and spending time at the river on his pontoon boat. He loved gardening and often shared his bounty.

In addition to his wife Jane, of forty-nine years, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his son: Bobby Joe (Sharon) Fitzgerald of Culleoka; daughter: Kim Fitzgerald of Columbia; step son: Kyle (Betina) Green of Columbia; son-in-law: Terry Rippy of Columbia; grandchildren: Kristie Terry (Michael) Smith of Thompson Station, Heath Fitzgerald of Union City, Selena Rippy of Columbia, Lauren Fitzgerald of Culleoka, Chamberlain Green of Columbia; great grandchildren: Hannah, Hudson, and Holden Turpen, Maddi Staten, Avree Fitzgerald; sister: Juanita Woody of Santa Fe; sister-in-law: JoAnne Fitzgerald of Tullahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his step daughter: Beth Rippy; brothers: Howard Fitzgerald, John Fitzgerald, and Thomas Fitzgerald; sisters: Lela Holcomb, Marie Cothran White, Janie Rittenberry, Lillie Mae Fitzgerald; brothers-in-law: Milton Holcomb, Kernie Cothran, Hugh White, Elmer Rittenberry, Will Frank Woody; and sister-in-law: Carolyn Fitzgerald.

Pallbearers will be: Punkin Johnson, Jerry Olive, Mike Fitzgerald, Dan La Framboise, Ron Beall, J O Smith, and Larry Gillam. Honorary pallbearers will include: Roy Mitchell, Ralph Smith, Paul Wayne Corvin, and the former employees of Plant Operations at Maury Regional Medical Center.
