Connie Teresa Smith

Mrs. Connie Teresa Smith, age 68, wife of William “Bill” Smith, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Michael Cox, Mike Williams, and Matthew Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Hope in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 31, 1952, in Mt. Pleasant, Connie was the daughter of the late Franklin D. Williams and the late Katherine Hendrix Williams. She married Bill Smith on June 30, 1979, and together they had three children. She worked as a secretary for the State Parole and Probation Department. Connie enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, and coloring and sketching.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Matthew (Tracy) Smith of Lafayette, TN, Adam Smith of Columbia, TN, daughter, Ragan (Caleb) Carlson of Germany, brothers, Mike (Brenda) Williams of Mt. Pleasant, Tim (Debra) Williams of Nashville, sister, Stephanie (Michael) Cox of Athens, AL, and grandchildren, Roman Smith, Adrian Carlson, Oliver Carlson, Trinity Dilliard, and Macie Dilliard.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Cox, Brandon Williams, Daniel Horton, Ben Williams, Tim Horton, and Adam Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will include the Maury County EMS.
