Corrine Oliver Goetz, age 90, a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday, October 14, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Joe Macer and John Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Lynnwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on November 30, 1928 in Maury County, Corrine was the daughter of the late Raymond Benjamin Oliver and the late Sarah Pearl Cummings Oliver. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and retired from Weather Tamer. She was a lifelong member of South Gate Church of Christ. Corrine had a servant’s heart and her passion in life was being a sitter for other people. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She and her sister, Janice, loved working outside and tending to their flowers. Above all, Corrine loved her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Tommy (Sandra) Goetz of Lynnville; brother, Billy Oliver of Columbia; sisters: Janice Johnson of Columbia, Geraldine Fisher of Columbia; grandchildren: Thomas (Lindsey) Goetz, Justin (Stephanie) Goetz; and great grandchildren: Adasyn, Brooklynn, Tristan, Charlotte, Savannah, and Kinley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darnell Goetz; son, Mike Darnell Goetz; and brothers: James Larry Oliver and Raymond Oliver, Jr.
Pallbearers will be: Thomas Goetz, Justin Goetz, Darrell Johnson, Keith Johnson, Wilbur Davis, and Dan Lovett.
Honorary pallbearers will include the members at South Gate Church of Christ.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Chris, Antonio and the staff of Hospice Compassus for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
