Cynthia Jean Brooks Wynn

Cynthia Jean Brooks Wynn, age 55, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away peacefully and entered eternal rest on September 25, 2023.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Heritage Funeral Home, located at 609 Bear Creek Pike, Columbia, TN 38401.  Family only visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM with the visitation with friends beginning at 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Cynthia was a proud graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and pursued her education at Vanderbilt University. She shared a loving marriage with Felethia Nicole Stovall Wynn, and their union endured for 16 cherished years.

Her life's journey was marked by a meaningful transition from her dedicated service at the Middle Tennessee Juvenile Detention Center to becoming a devoted foster parent. Her unwavering dedication to nurturing and caring for children radiated throughout this chapter of her life.

She is survived by her beloved children: Zae Thomas, Markevus Wynn, Tra’marqway Wynn, Jamarique Wynn, and Embreaun Stovall, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Nyzhayah Wynn, Stephen Thomas Jr., and Olivia Thomas; sister, Roslynne Smith; and nephews, Jemmerio and Keionderie Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lee Brooks and Mary Elizabeth Young Cooper; brother, Johnyell Brooks; aunt, Lera Jean Pillow; and dear friends, Cynthia Morris and Kimberly Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Burma McLean, Pricillia Brooks, Roger Kitrell, Jerry Brooks, Stephen Thomas Sr., DaShay Brooks, Jackie Brooks, Jacqueline Cathey, Torrie Mitchell, Venice Young Cooper, Norman Pillow Sr., Jennifer Brooks, Delancey Anderson, Antoinette Marie, and Rick Martin.
