Daniel Ryan Yancey

Daniel Ryan Yancey, age 33, resident of Culleoka, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 8th at 12:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home with Billy Yancey and Rick Points officiating.  Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.  The family will visit with friends on Friday, September 8th from 10:00am until the 12:00pm service hour.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Daniel was born July 29, 1990, in Columbia, Tennessee and was the son of Corey Blake Hood and Laurie Marie Yancey Hood.  He graduated from Culleoka High School in 2009 and worked in construction for Dave’s Grading.  He was a vibrant young man that enjoyed life to the fullest, spending time with family and friends. He loved playing and spending time with his kids.    He played all sports growing up including softball, baseball, football, and basketball.  He started liking dirt bikes and 4-wheelers at an early age of 3.  He also loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.  He enjoyed boating and tubing too.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his son, Jenson Clyde Yancey and daughter, Abygaile Marie Yancey, both of Lewisburg; siblings, William Cole Hood, Derrick Hay, Rhonda Pitts, and Ashley Mills; grandparents, Vera and Ronnie Thurman, Loyd and Wynell Hood; aunts and uncles, Valerie and Louis Wade, Vicki and Lee Shumate, Angie (Ricky)  Patterson, Nicole (Tony) Hardison, Billy (Carol) Yancey, LuAnn Yancey and John Wayne Yancey; cousins, Elizabeth (Casey) Johnson, Shaun (Amelia) Yancey,  Jeremy (Kerri) Yancey, and Kim (Joey) Mock; mother of his children, Darien Corbitt; and many more aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Milton “Buster” Yancey; great grandparents, Barbara Bond, Milton and Willie Yancey, and Harvey Kuykendall; and uncles, Terry Kuykendall and Mark Yancey.

Pallbearers will be Shaun Yancey, Jeremy Yancey, Casey Johnson, Derrick Hay, Nick Williams, and David Kimbrough.  John Wayne Yancey and Montrell Evans will serve as honorary pallbearers.
