Mr. Danny Edward Gammon, age 70, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 4PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence “Bud” Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Army. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020 from 4-7PM and again Tuesday from 3pm until the 4pm service at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on November 17, 1949 in Davidson County, Danny was the son of the late William Gammon and the late Frances Bryant Gammon. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam. He worked as a truck driver for TCW Trucking in Nashville and never really considered it a job because he enjoyed it so much. He recently had a garage built where he planned on rebuilding an old truck. Danny enjoyed camping and taking trips to Gatlinburg. Above all, he loved being with his family. Danny was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Gammon of Columbia; son, Danny Edward (Lisa) Gammon, Jr. of Murfreesboro; daughter, Melanie (Jason) Jacobs of Fayetteville; brother, John (Ellen) Gammon of Nashville; sisters: Rose Crouch of Dickson, Grace Gibsons of South Petersburg, TN; brother, Ronald Gammon; grandchildren: Chloe, Daniel, Tiffany, Hanna, Sara, Jalen; great grandchildren: Bailey, Camron, Greer, Collier, Kai, Stormy; sisters and brothers in law: Theresa Helms, Sheilah (Jerry) Bush, Sharon (Andy) Yaney, Karen (Scott) Uhles, Amy (Kenny) Jackson, Angela (Lee) Yaney, Ronnie (Scarlett) Uhles, Gary Uhles, Tony (Kristie) Uhles, and Tommy Banks; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and stepmother, he was preceded in death by his sister in law, Kathy Banks.
Pallbearers will be: Danny Gammon, Jr., Jason Jacobs, Ronnie Adkins, Bryan Fielder, Kenny Jackson, Billy Chatman, Parker Chatman, and Chase Thompson.
