Danny W. Mcconnell

January 26, 1943 — May 22, 2024

Danny W. McConnell, age 81, beloved husband of Lyndia Tarpley McConnell, and a resident of Lynnville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Zion Acres Freewill Independent Baptist Church, with Brother Doug Smith officiating.  Following the service, he will be laid to rest in the family cemetery in Lynnville.  A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 9:00 AM until 1:00PM at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Giles County, Danny was born on January 26, 1943, and was the son of the late J.B. McConnell and the late Ina Elizabeth Taylor McConnell.

Danny’s life was a testament to his deep love for the Lord and his servant’s heart. He found immense joy in mowing his yard as well as the churchyard, a simple yet profound act that reflected his dedication to serving his community. Known for his punctuality, Danny never wanted to be late for anything, embodying a commitment to respect and responsibility. His insistence on doing everything "now" was a hallmark of his diligent nature.   Preaching God’s word was Danny’s true calling. His sermons, filled with wisdom and passion, touched the lives of many and brought comfort and guidance to his congregation. His faith was not just a part of his life; it was the essence of who he was. Danny’s family was his pride and joy.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Stacey (Dolly) McConnell, Donald Gene McConnell, Stephen (Greta) McConnell and Jason (Wendy) McConnell; daughters, Jacqueline (Mike) Kamenske and Donna (Henry) McMahan; brothers, Richard O’Neal McConnell, Lannie (Sue) McConnell, and Freddie McConnell; sisters, Sue (Jackie) Ervin, Gearldine Dillon, Cookie Lee, and Joanie Wright; grandsons, Daniel (Dana) McMahan, Dewayne (Summar) McConnell, Coty (Bryleigh) McConnell, Josh McConnell, Jacob McConnell, Galen McConnell, Hunter McConnell,  Sam (Madison) McConnell, and Colby (Jacey) McConnell; granddaughters, Carrie Glass, Gabrielle (Corey) Roskam, Kayla (Justin) Osborne, Candace (Dylan) Mann, Breanna Davis, Hallie McConnell, and Brooklyn (Phillip) Potete; great grandchildren, Titus Glass, Logan Roskam, Kateri Thompson, Jax McMahan, Soraiya Osborne, Hayes McConnell, Kaley Wilson, Jasper Meredith, Loaklynn Meredith, McKinley McConnell, Charleigh McConnell, Lakelyn Potete, Waylon Potete, Carson Gray, Isaac Mann, Braelynn Mann, Adalynn Mann, Skylynn McConnell, Haelynn McConnell, Graylynn McConnell, Oaklynn McConnell, June McConnell, Jordy McConnell, and Will Roskam.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Brownie McConnell.

Those proudly serving as pallbearers will be grandsons and church members. Honorary pallbearers will be his friends at Walls Lumber Company and his special friends Dolly and Judy at the Campbellsville Café.
