Darell Wentzel

Darell Keith Wentzel, age 61, a resident of Cornersville, formerly of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 1PM at Rock Springs Cemetery with Pastor Richard VanCleave officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on January 11, 1960 in Maury County, Darrell was the son of the late Arthur Wentzel and the late Jewel Gilliam Wentzel. He previously worked as a service manager for Parks Motor Sales and later worked at Darells Auto in Columbia and Dealers Choice in Nashville. He loved working on cars, boating, and fishing. More than anything, he had a profound love for his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Wilson Wentzel; children: Mackenzie Anderson Wentzel, Jenna Elizabeth Wentzel (Alden Morrison); grandchildren: Kadaleena and Samuel Wentzel; brother: Dennis (Terry) Wentzel; nieces: Summer, Missy, and Christie; nephews: Jeremy and Justin; and many cousins and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Wentzel.

Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Wentzel, Justin Wentzel, Colton Wentzel, Chandler Edwards, Ricky Edwards, and Keith Caneer. Bobby Pulley will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
