David Groom

David “Dave” Gary Groom, age 83, husband of Elaine Kruser Groom, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022, at Brookdale Senior Living.

A drop in celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at 2019 Carpenter Bridge Road, Columbia, TN. A second service will be held in Wisconsin on October 22, 2022, with further details to be announced later. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 5, 1938, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, Dave was the son of the late Leslie Groom and the late Maude Wimer Groom. He married Elaine Kruser on October 22, 1960, and together they had seven children. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked his entire career as a union sheet metal worker before retiring in 2001. Dave enjoyed tinkering on things and loved riding and restoring John Deere tractors. One of his biggest hobbies was wood working.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jody Groom of Columbia, TN, Robin (Sonya) Groom of Wisconsin, Gena (Mario) Contaldi of Texas, Martin (Jennifer) Groom of Columbia, TN, Dean (Pam) Groom of Wisconsin, Dion Groom of Wisconsin, brother, Charles (Mary Louise) Groom of Wisconsin, grandchildren, Tabatha Groom, Shane (Sarah) Groom, Katie Groom, Samantha Contaldi, Caleb (Amanda) Groom, Joshua Groom, Seth Groom, Bridget (Brandon) Reynolds, Courtney (Broc) Caliger, Brooke Groom, and seven great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Marie Groom, and nine siblings.
