David Mostiller

David Sharrod Mostiller, age 56, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.

A celebration of David's life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 12:00pm at St. Paul AME Methodist Church. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the service begins at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.

Born on April 22, 1968, in Columbia, Tennessee, David was the son of the late William Nelson and the late Patricia Mostiller Buchanan. A proud graduate of Columbia Central High School, Class of 1987, David grew up attending St. Paul AME Methodist Church and later became a member of Church of God.

David was known for his vibrant personality, his love of dancing, and his endless sense of humor that could light up any room. A true entertainer and the life of every party, his legacy will be cherished by all who were lucky enough to know him.

David is survived by his loving fiancé, Michell Cooper of Mt. Pleasant, TN; his sons, Jonathan (Hayley) Mostiller of Columbia, TN, Christian Mostiller of Pulaski, TN, and Deon (Zakiyah) Blackison of Columbia, TN; his sister, Keyonna (John) Mostiller-Benyi of Nashville, TN; his brothers, Howard (Marsha) Buchanan of Kentucky, Kerry (LaRessia) Buchanan of Columbia, TN, Michael J. (Deon) Buchanan of Memphis, TN, and Eric Buchanan of Kentucky; his cherished grandson, Josiah Mostiller; and a host of beloved cousins.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his stepfather, James H. Buchanan.

David’s humor, energy, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
