David Franklin Sanders, age 70, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, officiated by Jim Floyd of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 a.m. until the service begins at 1:00 p.m. Heritage Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
David was born on August 3, 1954, in New Mexico, to the late Benjamin Franklin Sanders and the late Reba Neil Embler Sanders. A graduate of Hampshire High School, he went on to own and operate with his wife Shay’s Cleaning Service for 45 years, dedicating himself to the business they built with care and commitment. David was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he formed deep connections within his spiritual community.
Known for his sense of humor and love for music and karaoke, David enjoyed making others laugh and sharing his vibrant spirit. He was an avid car enthusiast, with a special fondness for the color orange, and treasured time spent with his family, who knew him affectionately as "Paw Paw." He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend, who will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Sharon Kay Boshers Sanders; his children, Michelle (Phillip) Petty, Michael Sanders, and Carl (Amy) Sanders; his sisters, Barbara Runions and Jean Pruitt; grandchildren, Cody Petty, Kennedy Sanders, Carlie Sanders, and Bella Sanders; and great-granddaughter Nia Shay Petty. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom were dear to him.
