Born on August 31, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio, Delore was the daughter of Clara E. Pearson and the late Robert Lewis. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Jackson Mamma had a great love for her family, friends, and others. Jackson Mamma never met a stranger. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, singing and dancing, cooking, traveling, shopping especially bargain shopping, as well as going to the casino with her mother and sisters. She enjoyed giving things away as much as she enjoyed buying them. She literally stocked her home to give to anyone that came by. Almost every meal she cooked and almost every item bought was most certainly given away. Giving was her spiritual gift. She had every size & any item you may have needed just like it was a Dept Store. When she had free time, Jackson Mamma liked to sew as well as doing miscellaneous house improvements. She learned how to sew from her mother, and her father taught her handy man skills.

Jackson Mamma attended Claiborne Chapel AME Church where she served as a trustee and assistant secretary. She devoted much of her time and resources to the children’s Sunday School. She retired from the United States Postal Service after 22 years where she worked as a Senior Operations Support Specialist. At work she was a member of the National Association of Postal Services and the African American League United for Success. Jackson Mamma was brilliant, passionate, and dedicated.

Jackson Mamma was known and loved for her selflessness, humor, quick wit, vibrancy, and lively spirit.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Laquita Maria Lockridge; siblings: Virginia Mae Lewis, Robert Lee Young, Jr., Henry Young, Herman (Janice) Young, Martha Davenport, Connie (Fred) Watts, Nancy (Raymond) Hammond, Robert Lewis, Gary Lewis, Morris Lewis, Olivia (Adam) Ahmad; grandchildren: Rodney D. (Rakita) Lockridge, Raven Lockridge, Raquel Lockridge, Riley Lockridge; and great grandchildren: Rodney K. Lockridge, Reis Lockridge, Kaydence Wade; and one great grandchild on the way.
