Jerry Donald (Don) LeGrone, 86, of Columbia, TN, passed away at Life Care Center on December 5, 2022.
Don was born on July 26, 1936, in Tuscaloosa, AL to the late James Edward LeGrone and the late Norvia Cook LeGrone. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ann LeGrone of Columbia, TN, his sons, Paul (Faith) LeGrone, Stephen (Laurie) LeGrone, and daughters, Susan (David) Dudley, and Rebecca (Travis) Walters, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim.
Don was a charmer who never met a stranger. He used his sense of humor to engage with others in his career in sales and in his personal life. Don worked hard at whatever he did and imparted this attribute to his family. He was a devoted golfer, fisherman, and Alabama football fan. Don was known for his vast vocabulary and love of Bear Bryant and Arnold Palmer. But the most important legacy he leaves to his family is his dedication to church. Don understood the need to be among a community of Christian believers and was active in church throughout his life. He could be spotted every Sunday morning sitting on the front row, wearing one of his brightly colored sport jackets, and singing at the top of his voice. He was a member of First Baptist Church Columbia, Tennessee.
