Dorthy Sue Allen, age 75, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A visitation will be held at Santa Fe Baptist Church on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM with Brian Talley officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on October 28, 1946, in Lewis County, Tennessee, Sue was the daughter of the late Thomas Clyde Mathis and the late Ostlee Mable Crouch Mathis. She had a very special love for animals, especially her beloved dog, Mia. In her earlier years, she enjoyed cooking breakfast, fishing with her husband, and being pampered at the beauty salon. Sue loved going shopping with her friend, Mary Ann, and spending quality time with her nieces and nephews. She attended Santa Fe Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brothers, Michael L. Mathis of Columbia, Wayne (Lorene) Mathis of Linden, sisters, Laverne Mathis of Columbia, Judy Mathis of Columbia, nephews, Jerry Mathis of Columbia, David Mathis of Hohenwald, nieces, Michelle (Brian) Talley of Williamsport, Amanda (Phillip) Brown of Linden, special niece, Teresa Vincent, stepchildren, Brenda Fitzgerald, Larry Allen, special friend, Mary Ann Money, and several great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen, brother, Doyle Mathis, sister, Faye Mathis, and stepchildren, Shirley Bearden and Frankie Allen.
