Eddy Morris Spencer, age 74, resident of Lynnville, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 at NHC Columbia.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 11 th at 5:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Randy McNeece officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 3:00 until the 5:00 PM service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Eddy was born in Maury County and was the son of the late Herman Spencer and the late Alvilda Greene Spencer. He graduated from Central High School in 1965 and worked at Mobile Chemical Company in maintenance in Mt. Pleasant. He also worked for Union Carbide and was an employee of Keith Baker Homes for many years. He ran Spencer’s Western Wear with his wife several years and his most recent job was for Hornbuckle Dentistry, which he enjoyed tremendously and thought the world of all the employees there. He was a man that lived life to the fullest. Eddy had numerous hobbies including taking care of his horses and cows, cooking, and making art out of horseshoes. He was a song leader for many churches and you could always find him karaokeing. He was an avid Alabama football fan and also for Vanderbilt athletics. His local morning hangout was at the Soda Pop Junction store in Lynnville where he and his friends would eat every morning and “solve the world’s problems.” Most of all Eddy loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children: John Clinton “Skip” (Jennifer) Spencer of Columbia, Alvilda “Alvy” Richardson and fiancé James Krajewski of Lynnville, and Cody “Buck” (Jennivy) Spencer of Columbia; grandchildren: Donald “Dalton” Richardson, Will Spencer, Bayleigh (Chase) Flewallen, Daven Spencer, Winston Spencer, Adelyn Spencer, Ezrin Spencer, and Blayne Adam Krajewski.
Along with his parents Eddy was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Spencer and his brothers, Pete Spencer and Deuel Spencer.
Honorary pallbearers will be his “Breakfast Club” buddies from the Soda Pop Junction.
His children would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at NHC Columbia for their kindness and care.
