Edith Evelyn Staggs Thomas, age 70, a resident of Lawrenceburg, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020 at NHC Health Care in Lawrenceburg.

Funeral services for Ms. Thomas will be conducted 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 17 at the Liberty Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg with Gary Crosby officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born November 6, 1949 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of the late Odis B. and Mable Flippo Staggs. She was a homemaker and liked to exercise and watch game shows on TV.

She is survived by her daughters: Ginger (Barry) Gobble of Lawrenceburg and Julie (Joey) South of Columbia; brothers: Harold Staggs, Odie (Barbara) Staggs and Dennis (Margie) Staggs, all of Lawrenceburg and Grady (Pat) Staggs of Decatur, TN; sister: Ruby Osborn of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren: Taylor Gobble, Bryant Gobble, both of Lawrenceburg and Jackson South, Justin South, Jameson South and Murphy South, all of Columbia. She was preceded in death by a brother: George Thomas Staggs; sisters: Gracie Green, Anna Lopp and Hazel Strantz.
