Edward Grocott

Edward Lawrence Grocott, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 22, 2018, at his home in Theta, Tennessee, after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at the Theta Baptist Church, 2321 Les Robinson Rd., Columbia, Tennessee, on Friday, October 26, beginning at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until the start of the service. Rev. Tom Hagerty will be officiating the service. Burial will follow the service at Theta Baptist Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Navy. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ed was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on July 11, 1939. Ed retired from the Navy as a Chief Warrant Officer after 20 years of service. He will be missed by the many friends he made throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife, Ilse; four children: Dolores (Carl) Clarke, David (Irene) Grocott, Daniel (Linda) Grocott, and Heidi (Jim) Ellis; plus many greatly loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ed’s brother David (Merodie) Grocott and sister Linda (Tom) Hagerty also survive him.

Pallbearers will be: Dan Grocott, David Grocott, Carl Clarke, David Grocott, Ronny Sparkman, Don Rynerson, and Michael Hagerty.
