Edward Hill

Edward Hill, age 45, resident of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 5th at 2:00pm at Bellafant Tabernacle and Word of Life United Church.  Burial will follow in Campground Cemetery.  The family will visit with friends from 12:00pm until the 2:00pm service at the church.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Edward was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on September 24, 1978, to the late Larry Dobbins and Gina Renee Hill Leonard. He graduated from Columbia Central High School and was a devoted member of Bellafant Tabernacle and Word of Life United Church. Edward found joy in simple pleasures, often engaging in spirited rounds of X-Box with his son and enjoying video games on his phone. An enthusiastic football fan, he cheered for LSU, the Patriots, and the Titans. His entertainment interests extended to cowboy and western TV shows, and he found solace in the peaceful pastime of fishing. Edward's infectious smile was his trademark, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He cherished family time in Gatlinburg and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Edward is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Mary Hill of Columbia, and their children, Edward Hill, Jr., Aleigha Hill, Latricka Yokley, and Brittany Lentz. He is also survived by his siblings: Lacey Dobbins, Vaughnita (Phillip) Johnson, Latasha Dobbins, Renae Harper, Cassandra Dobbins, Shelia Harper, Denise Hatcher, Marcus “Co-Co” Hill, Larry (Stacey) Woodson, Jason (Nicole) Dobbins, Steve Gallaway, Chris Harper, and Tarvares “Big Head” Hill.

In addition to his late father, Edward was preceded in death by Myrtle Hannah, a maternal figure he held dear, and her husband, John Robert Mayes; mother and father-in-law, Reverend Eddie Lee Ussery, Sr. and Mary Louise Ussery; and brother-in-law, Eddie Ussery, Jr.
