Edwina Joyce Jacobs

Edwina Joyce Jacobs, age 61, a resident of Nashville, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at her residence.

Edwina, and her father, Ed’s funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 3:30 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Tommy Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 1:00 – 3:30 PM at the funeral home. The family requests that anyone who plans on attending the visitation or funeral service, please wear a mask. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Edwina was born on August 20, 1960, in Nashville to Thomas Edward “Ed” Jacobs and Ruby Joyce Jack Jacobs. She was a 1978 graduate of Spring Hill High School where she was a cheerleader for four years and an honor student. After graduating high school, she attended Columbia State Community College and played the lead role in Antigone. She was a 1982 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where she majored in fashion merchandising. Soon after, she returned to Columbia where she worked as the manager of Gloria’s Fashion in the Columbia Mall. She was a person of many talents—she loved dancing, singing, playing the piano, was a model, and on the teen board at Parks Belk. She later moved to Nashville where she worked for Jane Jones, Sears, and was a realtor for several years. Edwina also often enjoyed going to gospel singings with her mom. She had a giving heart and loved being around people. She loved the Lord and was baptized at West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was a member. Her love for people was shown in many ways. She was always sending cards to people for all occasions.

Survivors include her mother Ruby Jacobs, sister, Patsy Jacobs (Jans) Hedrick and her niece, Brandi (Chris) Bolton. Her father, Thomas Edward Jacobs passed away on September 22, 2021. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George Edward & Saide Pearl Jacobs and Grady Dewey & Tinie Baker Jack.

Pallbearers will be Todd Blocker, Gwen Evans, Tommy Harrison, Mike Layne, John Pewitt, and John Pemberton. Honorary pallbearers will include the Spring Hill High School class of 1978 and members of West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Thank you to everyone who showed love and care to Edwina during her lifetime.
