Mr. Elbert McPeak, age 80, husband of Barbara McPeak, and a resident of Chapel Hill, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Williamson Medical Center.
Family and friends are invited to attend the celebration and visitation of Firecracker’s life on Monday, December 13 th from 4-7pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Elbert, well known as “Firecracker”, was born in Spring Hill on the Haynes Haven Farm on February 28, 1941 and was the son of the late Eugene McPeak and the late Ada Clyde Alsup McPeak. He retired as an iron worker and welder. He was a simple man who enjoyed fishing and being outdoors with his family. As a son, brother, husband, father, and Papa, he was always there when anyone needed him. He was an exceptionally strong man in every way- mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. He was the rock of the family and will have his legacy live on through the generations of the family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Along with his wife Barbara Harrell McPeak, he is survived by his daughter, Traci (Mark) Olive of Spring Hill; son, Mark McPeak of Columbia; granddaughters, Samantha (Adam) Bahr and Amanda (Kenneth) Hargrove; grandson, Tyler (Courtney) McPeak; brothers, Lanny (Nancy) McPeak and Bobby McPeak; great grandsons, Mason Bahr, Lucas Bahr, and Oliver McPeak; one great granddaughter, Kylee Hargrove; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his beloved dog, Lady.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl McPeak.
