Elizabeth Bingham Blackburn Bishop, age 90, resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, November 16 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bishop will be held on Wednesday, November 20 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Don Terry and Rev. Hubert Cunningham officiating. Entombment will follow in the Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Sam Gray, Brannon Jeter, Austin Fuller, Gage Blackburn, Dylan Ward, Dalton Ward, Paxton Smith, Hunter Smith and Caleb Gray.
Born November 13, 1929 in Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Cora George Bingham and the wife of Robert Bishop. She was the owner and operator of Pretty Lady Beauty Salon. Her hobbies were working in her yard, flower garden, dancing, and canning vegetables. She was a lover of all animals, providing homes for rescues and strays, and food for the various wildlife she loved to watch from her favorite chair. She often donated to the Humane Society and the Nashville Rescue Mission. She welcomed those who were away from family to enjoy her many holiday gatherings. She always had a soft spot for those who were down on their luck.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children: Connie Lee Blackburn Baker, Randy (Brenda) Blackburn, Cathy Blackburn Perryman, Barry (Dee Dee) Blackburn and Rhonda (Bill) Krambs; step children: Tamara Davis and Steven Bishop; sisters: Evelyn (Franklin) Massey, Anita (Lester) Box; brother: Stanley (Carolyn) Bingham; grandchildren: Tammy (Russ) Richardson, Benjy Mathews, Sam Gray, Heather Gray, Courtney (Ray) Jeter, Crystal Blackburn, Heather (Darren) Pipe, Emmarynthe Blackburn; step grandchildren: Allen Davis and Crystal Osborne; 14 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the father of her children: Baxter Blackburn; grandson: Cody Blackburn; granddaughter: Angela Diann Wells; son-in-law: Tommy Dixon Baker.
