Elizabeth Joyce Donaldson

Elizabeth Joyce Donaldson, age 81, of Columbia, died on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Elizbeth was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and church member. She will be greatly missed.

Elizabeth was born on May 4, 1941, in Maury County to John N. Joyce and Hazel C. Joyce. She was married to Rev. James A. Donaldson on June 30, 1988. She was a 1958 graduate of Carver Smith High School and attended Columbia State Community College.

She was employed by Dupont, Middle Tennessee Bank, First Farmers and Merchants Bank, and Maury Federal Bank as a loan processor.

She was a member of St. Paul A.M.E Church.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. James A. Donaldson, sister, Rachel J. Smith, brother, Brooks (Mildred) Joyce, nieces, Walena (Sid) Anderson, Valerie Joyce, nephews, Fredrick (Cheryl) Joyce, Lance (Kimberly) Joyce, John (Sheika) Smith, and a host of cousins, and friends, Randolph Wyatt, James Cathey, Wylma Polk, and Flora Knox and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John N. Joyce and Hazel C. Joyce, siblings, Johnnie Joyce Patrick and Wallace H. Joyce, and brothers in law, William Patrick, and Bobby G. Smith.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Maury Memorial Gardens with Reverend Dennis Lawson officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Fredrick Joyce, John R. Smith, Keon Joyce, Lance E. Joyce, Lance A. Joyce, and John B. Smith.
