Ernst Antoon De Koning

Dr. Ernst Antoon de Koning, age 82, husband of Magda de Koning-Koopman, and a resident of Hohenwald, Tennessee, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee, with Bert Spann officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 14, 1940, in The Hague, Netherlands, Ernst was the son of the late Johannes de Koning and the late Johanna de Koning-Esveld. He worked as a dentist in Boskoop, Netherlands and moved to Hohenwald for his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on his farm, taking care of his animals, gardening, cross-stitching, and crossword puzzles.

He is survived by his children, Ernst-Jan de Koning, Vincent (Supriya) de Koning, Rutger (Mariska) de Koning, Michiel de Koning, Roeland (Margaret) de Koning, brother Kees (Maggy) de Koning, nine grandchildren, and one grandchild on the way.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Han de Koning and sister, Nanneke Toxopeus-de Koning.
