Ethelene Williams

Ms. Ethelene Williams, age 82, a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Webster officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to the funeral home. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Maury County, Ethelene was born on August 8, 1936 and was the daughter of the late James Frierson and the late Harriett Ann Betty Frierson. She was a 1955 graduate of Clark High School in Mt. Pleasant. Ethelene was a member of St. James United Primitive Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant where she served as an usher. She also attended St. Ruth United Primitive Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. Ethelene worked in the dietary department at Maury Regional Medical Center for thirty-eight years before retiring in 2006. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed shopping and loved wearing her hats. Ethelene especially loved her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Marcia Williams of Nashville, TN, Marie Patterson of Elizabethtown, KY, Sharon (Errol) Murphy of Columbia, TN, and Cordy (Mildred) Williams of Cane Ridge, TN; sister: Mattie James of Mt. Pleasant, TN; grandchildren: NaTasha Patterson of Elizabethtown, KY, Tela Murphy of Spring Hill, TN, Briana Patterson of San Francisco, CA, Blair Murphy of Nashville, TN; great grandchildren: Tyliq Patterson, Mason Williams, Laken Murphy; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Cordy Lee Williams, Sr.; and sisters: Elizabeth Watkins and Dominion LeBeaux.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Richardson, Ronald Watkins, Johnny Armstrong, James Marshall, Walter E. Partee, and Johnny Warfield.

Flower Girls will be: Hattie Webster, Barbara Ann James, Evelyn Jennings, Faye Goff, and Shirley Robinson.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Maury Regional Cancer Center, NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care, and CARIS Hospice for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
