Evelyn Faye Martin

Evelyn Faye King Martin, age 80, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Donnie Davis officiating.  Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Stand Cemetery in Duck River, Tennessee.   A visitation will also be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 9, 1944, in Hickman County, Tennessee, Evelyn was the daughter of the late John King and the late Mary Morton King.

She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as gardening and soaking in the sun. Evelyn had a deep appreciation for country music, especially attending shows where Jeremiah Sundown performed.  She also found joy in collecting and admiring antiques. Evelyn was of the Church of Christ faith.  Above all, her greatest love was her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply.

Evelyn is survived by her longtime companion, Paul Roberts of Columbia; sons, Timothy “Timmy” Martin of Duck River, Mike (Melissa) Martin of Columbia, and Johnny Martin of White Bluff, Tennessee; sisters, Mary Ragsdale of Santa Fe, Joyce Haywood of Williamsport, and Frances Vaughn of Bon Aqua; grandchildren, April (Tommy) Parks, Mendy (Burtis) Boyd, Kayla (Mason) Parnell, Amanda Martin, Tommy Martin, Lonnie Martin, T.J. (Ashley) Martin, and Jesse (Natalia) Martin; twenty-three great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Martin and brothers, Glen King, Doug King and Buford King.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Parks, Burtis Boyd, Mason Parnell, Logan Krantz, Brandon Potts, Kevin Vaughn and Devin Vaughn.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Krantz and Jerome Wray, III.
