Fred Highfield

August 25, 1948 — June 26, 2020

Mr. Fred Venton Highfield, age 71, husband of Jacklyn M. Highfield, and a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor David Ward and Pastor Steven Morgan officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy. A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 10 – 11AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 25, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Fred was the son of the late Alfred Nelson Highfield and the late Gloria B. Snyder Highfield. He served his country in the United States Navy for seven years and married Jacklyn Hines on June 3, 1969. He enjoyed camping, fishing and horseback riding, and in his younger years, went deer hunting in Oklahoma with his dad and brothers. A follower of Christ, Fred was a kind, soft spoken man who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Daryl (Vickie) Highfield of Dickson, TN, Carrie (Todd) McQueen of Spring Hill, TN; brothers: Steve (Janet) Highfield of Oklahoma, Roger (Sharon) Highfield of Texas, Jeff (Dee) Highfield of Oklahoma; sisters: Debbie (Rodger) Clark of Oklahoma; grandchildren: Daniel Leftwich, Brianna Highfield, Laura McQueen, Jacob McQueen; brothers in law: Allen Bradford, Morris Shrum, Mark Shrum; sisters in law: Ruth Ann Neal, Teresa Layman, Lori Ball; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Bradford.
