Gary Smith of Linden, Tennessee

Mr. Gary L. Smith, age 68, a resident of Linden, passed away Wednesday morning, November 28, 2018 at his residence.

Services for Gary will be held at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with arrangements

Born October 27, 1950 in Washington Court House, OH, son of the late Marion and Josephine Butler Smith and husband of Catherine Vanhorn Smith. He worked as a boiler maker for chemical and oil companies in Louisiana and was one of the founding members of the Crossroads Church in Belle Chasse, LA. He loved to read books and had a passion for rescuing horses. Gary served in the US Marines during the Vietnam Era.

In addition to loving his wife, he is survived by his children: Jason (Debra) Smith and Heather (Joey) Lusk, both of Belle Chasse, LA; brothers: Mike and Dan Smith, both of Mt. Victory, OH and Robin Smith of Indian Lake, OH; sister: Debbie Swartz of Big Springs, OH; grandchildren: Charlie and Matthew Farhenholtz, Abby, Jonas, Gareth and Zoey Lusk.
