George Edmund Titsworth

January 14, 1946 — December 18, 2023

Mr. George Edmund Titsworth, age 77, a resident of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center in Columbia, Tennessee.

Born on January 14, 1946, in Mayfield, Kentucky, George was the son of the late Dr. Horace Titsworth and the late Dorothy Goodhue Titsworth of Clinton, Kentucky. He attended Hickman County High School and McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he graduated in 1964. He later went on to attend and graduate from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1969. He served in the United Sates Air Force for four years before settling in Frankfort, Kentucky.  He dedicated his entire career to the State of Kentucky in Disability Benefits Administration before retiring. In 2022, Mr. Titsworth moved to Brentwood, Tennessee to be closer to family for health reasons.

Mr. Titsworth loved history and was a voracious reader. He also enjoyed traveling abroad. He was a kind, soft-spoken, gentleman whose true love was animals. He had a big heart for rescue animals and supported many organizations dedicated to helping animals, big and small. His favorite rescue was his cat, Mona.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Titsworth, was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Titsworth. He is survived by his three nieces, Elizabeth Mills of Tell City, Indiana; Jennifer Dillard (Brad) of Brentwood, Tennessee; and Suzanne Bailey (Matthew) of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, and his sister-in-law, Joyce Titsworth of Paducah, Kentucky.

There will be a private ceremony with family, and he will be laid to rest at Lexington (KY) Cemetery.
