Gerald Wayne Lovell, age 77, husband of Peggy Lovell, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday morning, March 31, 2019 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with David Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Wayne was born on June 23, 1941 in Columbia and was the son of the late Milburn Lovell and late Jewell Rose Lovell. He worked for the Marshall County Highway Department and drove a school bus for several years. He retired from Rhone Poulenc in Mt. Pleasant where he worked as a mechanic and millwright. Wayne was an avid golfer and also enjoyed gardening and farming. He was a member of Highland Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Peggy Clifton Lovell; sons: Timothy (Gloria) Lovell of Lynnville and Terry Lovell of Columbia; brother: Edwin (Sue) Lovell; sister: Gerry Lovell Cannady; grandchildren: Brandon Lovell, Kimberly Lovell, and Ashley Lovell; brother in law: Larry Don (Mary) Clifton; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother J.C. Lovell.

Pallbearers will be Lee Bailey, Jeff Knox, Mark Lovell, Tracy Lovell, Mickey Farlow, Brandon Lovell, Larry Don Clifton, and Michael Clifton.

The family requests memorials to be made to Highland Church of Christ Building Fund: 497 E. James Campbell Blvd, Columbia, TN 38401.
