Goldie Ray Scruggs, age 73, a resident of Jamestown, Tennessee and formerly of Williamson County passed away January 11, 2019 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 14 th at 2:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Kyle Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Lambert Cemetery in Lyles, Tennessee. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 11:00AM until the 2:00PM service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ray was born November 30, 1945 in Williamson County and was the son of the late Goldie Wade Scruggs and the late Katherine Tennessee Burke Scruggs. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1963. He married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Ardry Scruggs, 42 years ago. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired self-employed mechanic at Nolensville Repair Service. He enjoyed fishing, but his passion was deer hunting. He enjoyed building race cars and also was a musician playing the piano and guitar. Most of all, Ray dearly loved his entire family and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife: Barbara Ann Ardry Scruggs of Nolensville; Daughter: Goldie (Tracy) Willis of Knoxville, TN; Son: Ellis (Amber) Scruggs of Maryville, TN; Sisters in law and brothers in law: June (Travis) Victory of Columbia and Cleopatra McCaleb of Columbia, Bill (Marjorie) Ardry of Williamsport, Boyce (Carolyn) Ardry of Arrington, and Steve (Rhena) Ardry of Columbia; and grandchildren: Cassie Willis, Elijah Scruggs, Ashlee Willis, and Tyler Scruggs.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Margaret Irvin; brother in law: Ellis Sanford Irvin; and grandson: Jaden Scruggs.

Pallbearers will be Ellis Scruggs, Elijah Scruggs, Tyler Scruggs, James Scruggs, Jr., Tracy Willis, Boyce Ardry, and Steve Ardry.
