Gordon “Pops” Ginnings, age 79, resident of Columbia, passed away Monday, November 05, 2018 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 12 th at 12 noon at Nashville National Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Air Force.
Pops was born in New Mexico on April 26, 1939 and was the son of the late Vernon and Mary Ginnings. He worked 11 years as a crew chief of a C130 in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals, and was a huge Star Wars fanatic. He will be missed dearly by his family and his best friends Duke, Tiny, BB, and Rocky.
He is survived by his children: Brenda (Walter) Dugger, Pete Bennett Ginnings; grandchildren: Gail Manning, Teresa (Danny) Ragsdale, Amanda White, Genese (Caleb) Dye, Michael Ginnings, and Gary Ginnings; great grandchildren: Caleb Anderson, Blake Estes, Stephen Lunn Stanfill, Dia Jonnae, Julius, Isaiah, Makayla Rycraw; nephews: Mike Harris and Mike Madar; and sister in law: June Ginnings.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and grandmother.
