Gordon B. Mcwilliams

Gordon B. McWilliams, age 70, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with David Roberts officiating. A visitation will also be held on Monday from 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Please all in attendance follow CDC guidelines on social distancing and facial coverings.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Maury County, Gordon was born on July 25, 1950. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and worked many years as an over the road truck driver for Mt. Pleasant Transfer before retiring. He later worked for several local construction companies. Gordon most recently loved working for Maury County Convenience Centers. He was an avid sports enthusiast, especially NFL, College football, and NASCAR. Growing up he was involved in sports, and previously played on a men’s softball league. He loved visiting with people and talking on the phone.  Gordon never met a stranger, and if he like you, he loved you. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church where he was proudly baptized in 2017 in the presence of his many friends who he invited to come see.

He is survived by his cousins, Faye (Leslie) Burns of Mt. Pleasant, Brandon Burns, Brent Burns; several other cousins; caretakers: Joey & Vickie Allen of Columbia; and a host of special friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy McWilliams Carr.
