Greg Hykes of Columbia, Tennessee

October 20, 1947 - December 24, 2019

Mr. Gregory “Greg” T. Hykes, age 72, husband of Yolanda Hykes, and a resident of Stoneybrook Road in Columbia, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

The family will celebrate his life with services at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Greg was born on October 20, 1947 in Southbend, Indiana and was the son of the late Paul G. Hykes and the late Alice Mary Lehman Hykes. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and previously worked as an Economist for Ace Bayou Corporation in Lewisburg. He was a member of the Columbia Rotary Club and was of the Presbyterian faith. He loved all different kinds of foods, especially various different cheeses. He enjoyed traveling and watching Mel Brooks’ movies. Greg was a selfless person who always put others first, especially his family which he loved dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife Yolanda “Gris” Hykes of Columbia; children: Bryan (Irenda) Hykes of TX, Lisa (Ernesto) Bottger of TN, and Trevor (Jessica) Hykes of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren: Trevan Hykes, Tristan Hykes, Taylan Hykes, Nolan Bottger, Annabelle Bottger, and Margot Hykes.
