Gregory Gilbert English, Sr.

Gregory Gilbert English, Sr. was born on March 30, 1960 in Columbia, Tennessee. He is the son born to the union of the late Mrs. Fannie Bell English and Mr. Gilbert English.  He departed this earthly life to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 9, 2021.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Trent Ogilvie officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gregory accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Columbia, TN.  He was a dedicated deacon and served faithfully for many years. He diligently worked as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, deacon and so much more.  He graduated from Columbia Central High School and moved right into the work field.  Greg retired from Ryder Systems, Inc. in 2020 as a committed Logistics Manager where he loved his job and every team member he encountered.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mrs. Fannie Bell English.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Donna English; his father: Gilbert English; four devoted children: Courtney (Moe) English, Krystal (Randle) Holpe, James English, and Greg English, Jr.; his beloved grandchildren: Dasia English, Alonzo Houston, Kassidy Holpe and Annabelle Holpe; his loving sisters: Janice English, Wanda English, and Gilda (Keith) Mayes; loving nieces and nephews who affectionately called him Uncle Greg; and loving and devoted friends: Steve Sharp, Timothy Byrdsong, and Monty Howard.
