Helen Faye White Carter, age 74, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at her residence.
A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on September 17, 1949, in Talladega, Alabama, Helen was the daughter of the late Warren “Stumpy” Wallace and the late Nellie B. White Garrett. With a dedicated career spanning over two decades, she contributed her skills to General Motors in quality control. Known for her hospitable nature, Helen enjoyed entertaining, shopping, and gardening. Her greatest joy, however, was her family, particularly her cherished grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Robert Carter (Jennine Elliott), daughter, Raven Carter Evans, brothers, Samuel (Ella) White, Bruce (LaShunda) Garrett, Willie Joe “Smokey” White, Warren Wallace, Harry Tiran (Willie) Wallace, sisters, Sonja Yvette (Ronald) McCall, Michelle Regina (Anthony) McKiney, Linda Faye Wallace, Deborah (Earl) Richardson, grandchildren, Imani Carter, Tyler (Macy) Carter, Azariah Carter, Robert Carter, IV, Gabrielle Carter, Robert Evans, IV, King Evans, DeAndera Evans, and great grandchild, Grayson Carter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Antionette Carter, sisters, Georgia Richardson, Kathy White, Cynthia Garrett, Mary Alice Wallace, Sharon Lavon Stennis, and LaTanya T. Wallace.
