Helen Morrow Jones, age 91, a resident of Dowell Branch Road of Columbia, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 12, 2019 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Brother Josh Hardin and Rick Points officiating, burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Monday March 11 th from 3-7PM at Heritage Funeral Home.

Born on August 26, 1927 in Lawrence County, Helen was the daughter of the late Henry C. Morrow and the late Arvie Z. Orton. Born in Lawrence County on a small farm milking cows and picking cotton, Helen was a very hard worker and loved farm work. She married Allen Emory Jones on June 7, 1946, who preceded her in death on December 9, 2018. Helen worked at Rippey Auto Parts from 1954 to 1990 when she retired as a secretary and bookkeeper. Helen attended Center School, a two teacher school, through the 8 th grade. She also attended Summertown High School through 12 th grade and then attended Columbia Business College at age 37 where she obtained her degree in Business. Helen was baptized into Christ at age 13 at Midway Church of Christ and was a member of Philippi Church of Christ.

She is survived by her son: Allen Wayne (Marie) Jones of Hohenwald, TN; brother; Clyde (Mary) Morrow of Pulaski, TN; sisters: Ruth Barnett of Michigan and Frances (D.W.) Shelton of Summertown, TN and grandchild Kayla Marie Jones Long (Josh) of Thompson’s Station, TN.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son: Ricky Dewayne Jones; brother; Hubert Morrow and two sisters: Imalene Dale and Joyce Brown.

Pallbearers will be Larry Shaw, Randy Dale, Wade Shelton, Marion Klinghard, Donald Goad and Jeff Thomason.
