Henry Thomas Edwards of Columbia, Tennessee

December 2, 1927 - December 14, 2019

Mr. Henry Thomas Edwards, age 92, a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Life Care Center.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. His body will lie in state on Wednesday, December 17, 2019 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Edwards was born on December 2, 1927 in Maury County and was one of twelve children of the late William Finis Edwards and the late Laura Bell Lee Edwards. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and attended regular service until his health failed. He enjoyed drawing and going on walks.

He is survived by his sister, Anita Lee Edwards of Mt. Pleasant; niece, Mary Ann (Howard) Davis; and numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Hubert, Luther, Robert, Hastin, Charles “Clifford,” and Laurine Edwards and Rebecca Edwards Spencer.

Members of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church will serve as active pallbearers.
